Tips to ensure the safe delivery of your Fragile Package
Have you ever had to arrange delivery of a fragile package to one of your customers, only to find out off them that it was damaged during transit?
This is a common situation that lots of business owners have frequently found themselves in and they’ve probably thought about what they could have done to ensure the items arrived undamaged.
Here at Greg Paulson Same Day Couriers, we specialise in the delivery of fragile items such as laptops, retail display products, antiques, and much more.
Below are a number of tips that you can use to help protect your delicate or fragile goods when sending them out for delivery.
Select The Correct Box
When you choose a box for the fragile item you want to ship out for delivery, it needs to be exactly the right size. The easiest way to do this is first of all to measure the product you need to ship, then you’ll be able to select the correct size box. You need to make sure that the box has a couple of inches of additional space around the item to ensure it will be safe.
Packaging Fragile Items
When you’ve selected the correct size box, you now need to wrap your fragile it. The best way to protect it is by wrapping bubble wrap around it then taping it so that it’s secure.
Add Padding / Cushioning To The Package
Place the bubble-wrapped item into the box, then using packing materials such as crumpled newspaper, air pillows or pieces of bubble wrap secure it in place so it can’t move.
Sealing Your Package
You now need to weal your package so it can’t open on it’s way to the delivery address. Using Pressure sensitive Kraft tape is a much better option than using masking tape, duct tape or string.
Use A FRAGILE label
The best thing to do to make people aware your goods are of a fragile nature is to either stick a fragile label on it or even write the word fragile / handle with care on it. This should hopefully make sure the courier company delivering your parcel treat it with extra care and take precautions to make sure it stays safe and undamaged.
Include An Address Label
Place your delivery label on the box's largest surface area. Obviously, make sure the label includes the delivery address and also include a return delivery address in case your parcel goes missing.
